Upper part of the stomach is known as Fundus whereas lower part is called Body . Both of these parts have two specific kinds of cells

  1. PERISTAL CELL- They turn the food acidic with the production of HCL.
  2. CHIEF CELL – They produce pepsinogen

WHEN AND HOW BURNING SENSATION STARTS IN THE STOMACH ?

At the both ends of stomach cardiac gland and pyloric gland produce mucin that is basic in nature to some extent. This mucin produces a layer in the stomach which protects the stomach from its own acidic secretions . When HCL and PEPSIN crosses their limit , they starts to stick to the internal layers of the stomach and protective layers fails to protect the stomach and as a result burning sensation starts in the stomach. When patient drinks some drink to lower the burning sensation , for the time being its symptoms are decreased but after some time amount of acid again accelerates and patient feels burning sensation that leads to pain. If this condition remains for a long time it causes ESOPHAGITIS.

Because of the lack of proper treatment these acidic secretions raised to such an extent that they produces wounds in the stomach that bleed . At the initial stage black colored stool is passed and if it becomes more severe, vomiting of blood occurs and this condition is known as ULCER.
